  • I was completely engrossed in this story from beginning to end. The characters were fascinating and expertly crafted. The different plotlines converged in a satisfying way, leaving no loose ends, which is something I really appreciate. I will definitely be on the lookout for more books by this author and more audiobooks narrated by these performers. I have a special affinity for Sarah Zimmerman, as I discovered this story while searching for more of her work after hearing her impressive Australian accents in "In the Deep".
  • This book was such a snoozefest. I found myself completely checked out multiple times and didn't even bother going back to catch up on what I missed. Trust me, you can definitely pass on this one!
  • The writer seems to have a strong affection for the F-word - it's excessively utilized and doesn't contribute anything meaningful to the narrative. I won't be investing in any more books from this author in the future.
  • I had to replay the ending a couple of times just to make sure I grasped who did what and why--and even after the second listen, it still left me perplexed. Maybe my focus is a little wonky from being stuck in this never-ending COVID lockdown, but this plot is so twisted that I doubt anyone could predict the outcome. The characters have some complexity (which is a good thing), but the storyline is just too convoluted to deliver a powerful impact. Overall, I'd give it a solid 3.5 stars, rounding up.
  • The characters in this audiobook are absolutely fantastic. It's like being engrossed in a captivating movie that completely makes you lose track of time. I've wasted so much money on listening to the overhyped garbage on this platform, but this one is actually really good.
  • I deducted one star from the story due to some of the connections feeling a bit far-fetched. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed it from beginning to end. I'm eagerly anticipating more works from the author. Hopefully, this wasn't her debut or that the sequel will be released soon. The storytelling was quite clever and skillfully crafted.
  • I was really excited to give this mystery a listen since it was highly recommended by People Magazine. However, I ended up feeling quite let down. The excessive use of profanity, particularly the f-word, isn't something that I personally find respectable or enjoyable. In my opinion, it doesn't add anything meaningful to the overall storytelling. On the contrary, it actually detracted from my enjoyment. While the story had its interesting moments, I was left without a clear understanding of Amanda's unresolved issues with her father. Moving forward, I'll definitely be more cautious when it comes to anything on People's "Must Reads" list and any future works from this author.
  • At first, I struggled to dive into the story, but I decided to crank up the pace and persisted. I contemplated returning it a few times, but my curiosity about the perpetrator kept me hooked. It leaned a bit towards the feminine side and had an excess of domestic drama, almost resembling a Lifetime movie.
  • I was pleasantly surprised by this book. It exceeded my expectations and kept me engaged with its intriguing characters and gripping plot. It's a great choice for those who enjoy the genres of murder mysteries and legal thrillers.
  • I gave this one a listen on the platform. The characters in this book are quite intriguing, and it's hard to tell who the actual killer might be. There are multiple layers to the story that keep you engaged. I concur that it's reminiscent of Little Big Lies, but with a legal twist. I can totally envision Nicole Kidman being a great fit for the movie adaptation. The narrators did an excellent job in bringing the story to life.
