  • I remember pulling an all-nighter diving into the newest spy novels penned by Tom Clancy. Unfortunately, his most recent two books didn't quite live up to the high standards set by his previous works. I have to admit, I felt somewhat let down by this particular novel. However, I must say that the last quarter of the book managed to redeem itself and was the highlight for me. On a side note, I didn't find Steven Weber's narration to be all that engaging, to the point where I almost gave up listening at one stage. If you're in the mood for suspense and action, my suggestion would be to stick with Vince Flynn's novels. No offense, Tom.
  • The audiobook for 'Against All Enemies', a standalone novel by Clancy co-written with Peter Telep, was released in 2011. I had the chance to listen to it, and I must say, it didn't impress me much. The main character, CIA agent and ex-SEAL Maxwell Moore, tries his best to make the story engaging, but it falls short. The narration is just okay; nothing to write home about. If you're a fan of Clancy, I would recommend sticking to his Jack Ryan series or the Ryan Jr./John Clark series. The Op-Center series and standalone Clancy novels may not be worth your time.
  • The story kicks off with an overwhelming number of storylines and a significant amount of unnecessary content taking up space. Just when you start to understand and connect with a character, they meet an untimely demise. The only survivor in this tale is the so-called "hero" who continuously wallows in self-loathing throughout the entire book, making you want to skip ahead to avoid hearing it all over again. The two main storylines that actually contribute to the plot are decent, but sifting through the superfluous material is an agonizing task.
  • Great book, description of areas and locations were right on, almost all of the technical descriptions were very accurate, and the timing of events keep me going on the drive from Flagstaff to Lexington.
  • Tom Clancy “Against all enemies” a fantastic read. The story is engaging all the way through and twists and turns continuously. The dialogue sounds authentic and the narrator is the best I have ever listened to. He adopts the accent of the different nationalities given to each character superbly which helps you picture the person and imagine the conversations. One of my best buys. Make note of the narrator , the book would not be as gripping without him!
  • Not the best, but not bad. Different characters than I was used to but typical of Clancy in development. Narrator is very good, but he isn't Lou Diamond Phillips who I thought was the best when I heard him recently on two Campus Series books.
