  • I think this series is fantastic. The concept behind it is absolutely captivating. Rick Hill never fails to impress with his exceptional storytelling skills. Personally, I believe the first book is the ultimate standout. The only drawback I encountered was the repetition of the main character's background in each installment. However, I highly recommend giving this series a chance.
  • I really had high hopes for this book and the entire series, but honestly, it turned out to be the most sluggish and excessively verbose thing I've encountered on this platform. The narration was decent, but I simply can't endure "wasting" any more of my time on it.
  • It's difficult for me to give this book a definitive rating. The author excels at providing listeners with a comprehensive story, complete with intricate backstories and a captivating plot. However, this attention to detail means that there are longer gaps between action scenes, which is something I personally seek in a thriller. Therefore, I would classify this more as an international intrigue/suspense novel. Nevertheless, the book itself is well-written and the characters are intriguing. If you're in the market for a skillfully crafted narrative with intermittent bursts of action, then this is the book for you. The performance in the audiobook is excellent, and the additional production extras, such as incorporating sounds of people on the phone rather than just narrating them, are a delightful bonus.
  • I've seen this author around for a while but never actually got around to reading any of his books. Looks like I've got some catching up to do! The characters were fantastic and the story was quite enjoyable. It flowed really smoothly and had plenty of twists and turns to keep me hooked. I was so engrossed that it felt like I was flipping through the pages of a physical book. I might just have to upgrade my membership so I can get more credits each month.
  • I gave this book a shot and initially thought it had potential. However, I quickly grew disheartened due to the excessive use of profanity, which led me to stop listening. Regrettably, I won't be able to purchase any future works from this author.
  • The narrator deserves most of the criticism for making By Order of the President a real drag. Despite the various voices and accents, Mr. Hill's slow delivery and emotionless reading style made me doze off. Additionally, the book suffered from an abundance of unnecessary characters that nobody cares about and numerous complicated relationships reminiscent of Dickens' works. Overall, it was a terrible experience.
