  • This book is absolutely mind-blowing! While it may not be filled with non-stop action, the writing is absolutely fantastic and captivating. It offers a unique and intriguing perspective into the expansive Star Wars universe. Even if you aren't planning on watching Rogue One, I highly recommend giving this book a shot.
  • The world-building in Catalyst (Star Wars): A Rogue One Novel is absolutely incredible. It sets the perfect stage for the events of Rogue One and seamlessly transitions into Tarkin, another fantastic book.
  • The book and the narration in it are absolutely incredible. Without a doubt, it is the best new addition to the Star Wars canon. It surpasses the dreadful Aftermath series by a long shot. They should definitely bring Luceno on board for more Star Wars projects! He's on par with Zahn, no doubt about it!
  • The writing and performance of 'Catalyst (Star Wars): A Rogue One Novel' are top-notch. The story is fantastic, serving as a perfect lead-in to the new film. While it starts off a bit slow and occasionally feels wordy, it provides crucial details about Khyber crystals and important plot developments. Additionally, it's great to be introduced to the Erso family and other new characters, and see how they connect with familiar faces like Tarkin.
  • I absolutely adored the storyline and I'm eagerly anticipating the movie. Jonathan Davis was absolutely outstanding! He's definitely my top pick for narrators. I'm crossing my fingers that he'll continue to lend his talents to future Star Wars tales.
  • Like all the recent movies, it seems that 'Catalyst (Star Wars): A Rogue One Novel' was primarily created to boost sales and provide more background for the upcoming film. I can't help but feel sorry for James Luceno, especially considering his previous works, which I believe are the top-notch books in the old expanded universe. However, Jonathan Davis' performance as the narrator of the audiobook manages to make the dull storyline more bearable. It's just that this makes me worry about the future of the expanded universe of Star Wars. If you're not concerned about whether a book is considered canon or not, I highly recommend checking out Luceno's 'The Old Republic' books, as they are truly exceptional.
  • I gotta admit, it's tough for me to write a negative review for a Star Wars book since I usually dig them all, but this one just didn't do it for me! To be honest, I couldn't even make it halfway through before calling it quits. When it comes to a book tied to the most epic movie franchise ever, it should have you hooked from the get-go and keep you captivated. The characters were lacking any real spark, and the plot just seemed to drag on and on. Fingers crossed that Rogue One will step up its game.
  • I couldn't have asked for a better introduction to the world of audio books. The way the story was narrated and described made me feel like I was actually watching a Star Wars film.
