  • I don't get why anyone would bother buying these books when Disney keeps putting out this disappointing junk. It's nowhere near as good as any of the novels by Karpyshyn or Luceno. Disney is slowly destroying Star Wars with every story they release. I'm finished with this!
  • This audiobook offers valuable insights regarding the downfall of the Empire and the origins of the first order, along with the political landscape of the era. However, it fails to mask the average and foreseeable storyline. And seriously, someone needs to confine Temmin to his quarters.
  • If you're in the market for Star Wars books where the characters make decisions reminiscent of a reckless teenager, then "Empire's End: Aftermath" is just what you're looking for. Throughout the trilogy, these characters show no signs of growth and fail to provide any rationale for their choices. It's as if the author was given a starting and ending point for each book and given complete creative freedom in between. If you're seeking insight into the events between Episodes 6 and 7, it might be best to come up with your own imaginative story. It will likely be more satisfying. I had to double-check if the voice work was done by Billy West, because Timen, the whiny boy, and his neglectful mother Nora both sound strikingly similar to Philip J. Fry from Futurama. It seems like all the voice acting talent went into delivering a somewhat passable performance for Han Solo. Overall, I would suggest exploring other Star Wars books. The Bane Trilogy or any of the Knights of the Old Republic books are far superior choices. For those intrigued by the later timeline, I recommend giving "Darth Plagueis" a listen.
