Sometimes, I struggled a bit with distinguishing between the author's experiences and those of others, which made it a bit confusing. However, aside from that, the audiobook offers valuable lessons and advice that I found helpful.

Instead of aimlessly hoping you're on the right path, this book encourages you to seek the truth and either continue your journey towards victory or liberate yourself from a life of bondage.

I was raised in a Christian household, and during my high school years, Every Man's Battle became incredibly popular. It seemed like every church was forming EMB groups and all the youth leaders and mentors couldn't stop talking about it.
Personally, I never bought into the whole Purity Culture movement (thankfully), so I didn't pay much attention to the book. However, after reading The Great Sex Rescue, which argues that EMB and other similar books aren't the miraculous solutions they claim to be, I was shocked. I couldn't believe that such a widely-praised book could be so terrible, so I decided to give Every Man's Battle a chance and see for myself.
Unfortunately, all the negative things I heard about Every Man's Battle turned out to be true.
The book portrays all men as uncontrollable creatures driven by insatiable sexual desires, placing the burden of controlling them solely on women's shoulders. The authors present numerous stories of men engaging in disturbing, frightening, and sometimes criminal behavior, dismissing it as typical male behavior. Their suggested strategies for dealing with lust largely revolve around objectifying women, albeit in slightly different ways.
The only positive aspect I can mention is that the authors (who are grown men themselves) come across as immature and overly fixated on sex, which serves as a strong deterrent for anyone wanting to be like them, either in the past or present.
The book 'Every Man's Battle: Winning the War on Sexual Temptation One Victory at a Time' is filled with fantastic illustrations and practical examples that really hit home. The author provides some real gems in the form of tools that can be used to keep moving forward and making progress in the battle against sexual temptation.
I've gotta say, it feels like God has been nudging me to give this book a shot for ages. And you know what? I'm so damn glad I finally decided to listen to it. It's been eye-opening, to say the least. I'm actually planning on going back to the beginning and giving it another go.
I enjoyed it, although in my view, some of the ideas or actions they suggest may be a little over the top for me. Maybe it's because I still follow the Catholic faith and acknowledge my imperfections, and perhaps I'm not keen on altering every single one of them. However, it serves as a helpful resource for men who wish to distance themselves from the realm of temptation and desire.
I really hope this book can help me absorb the truth! Society has conditioned us men to think that certain thoughts and actions are totally acceptable, which ultimately affects our marriages and overall mental and spiritual well-being.
