  • I'm a huge fan of the In Death Series! These mysteries are absolutely fantastic, combining romance and humor in such a captivating way. The narrator, Susan Ericksen, is absolutely incredible. Her talent for remembering and portraying the unique voices of each character is mind-blowing.
  • Although the main character can be challenging to warm up to at times, the plot of this book is intriguing and will surely hold your attention. Speaking of the main character, Eve has become more likable compared to the early books in the series where she was incredibly rude, unpleasant, and lacked a sense of humor even towards those who cared for her, causing some discomfort. Another minor annoyance is that regardless of her rudeness, the other characters always seem to find her actions acceptable and warranted. If you can overlook these aspects and have a fondness for murder mysteries, you'll certainly enjoy this book. However, the true brilliance lies in Susan Erickson's narration, as she brings the characters to life. There are moments when I feel like I can't bear any more of the main character's sarcastic remarks and the lack of mutual respect, but Erickson's performance always drags me back into the story.
  • In "Imitation in Death: In Death, Book 17," Lieutenant Eve Dallas, the top homicide detective at NYPSD, is faced with a challenging situation. A killer is mimicking the methods of previous serial killers, posing a dilemma for Dallas. This seventeenth installment in the In Death series by JD Robb is captivating and has international implications. Robb's writing is exceptional, as always, and each new release in this series only improves upon the last. Eve Dallas, the lead character, is a standout protagonist in the murder-mystery and police procedural genre. What makes this book even more enjoyable is the inclusion of Delia Peabody, Dallas's reliable assistant, who is studying for her detective exam and is there every step of the way. Don't miss out on this fantastic read.
  • I've always been a fan of Nora Roberts and I absolutely adore the In Death books. When I realized that I had missed a few in the series, I decided to start rereading them from the beginning. Let me tell you, it's been an absolute delight listening to them on this service. Each book evokes a range of emotions from me - I find myself shedding a few tears, laughing, and even searching for someone like Roarke on the streets. Seriously, why hasn't this series been turned into a movie yet? The narration is fantastic and now I can't wait to dive into the next book.
  • The 'Imitation in Death: In Death, Book 17' is part of the J D Robb series set in the year 2061. Lieutenant Eve Dallas, along with her partner Delia Peabody, recently got promoted to detectives while dealing with a murder case. Throughout the series, Eve has formed strong bonds with various characters who feel like family and friends. Additionally, she is now married to Roarke. Eve has gained a reputation for solving high-profile murders as a member of the NYPSD. If you're a fan of murder mysteries, you'll definitely find this series enjoyable.
