Those who are griping were anticipating Carlin's typical comedy routine! But, this was a biography, not a comedy show! I already possess the physical book, but I enjoy experiencing books through audio, preferably with the author narrating (too bad George wasn't around to do it!) No disrespect to Patrick, but he's not George! However, he put in a valiant effort! I also would have preferred if the chapters were divided as they were in the original book! Additionally, I didn't realize I was purchasing an abridged version! If that was mentioned on the website, I must have missed it!
The audiobook for 'Last Words' had some major chunks missing, which was a bummer. However, on the whole, it provided a captivating glimpse into the life of one of the greatest comedians ever.
