  • I was a big fan of this book when I was younger, and even now, I still adore it. Cherry Jones has such a calming voice that really puts you at ease and helps you visualize the story. It's a fantastic tale that appeals to people of all ages and is perfect for families. The Little House series has always been, and still remains, my top choice when it comes to "children's" books.
  • I've absolutely enjoyed listening to the entire series, although there's one thing that doesn't quite hit the mark for me - Cherry Jones' singing. I've noticed this issue with audiobooks before, where the narrators have fantastic reading skills but their singing voices can be cringe-inducing. Given that this series involves a lot of singing, it would be great to have someone with a smoother voice to read it. I understand it's a challenging task, especially when asked to sing for different characters, but I believe there are talented individuals who can pull it off. I don't mean to sound harsh, it's just something that really bothers me. It's the only aspect that bothers me in many audiobooks. It's almost as if they think readers won't notice, but we do, especially when there's beautiful fiddle playing that I find myself wanting to hear more than the narrator's accompanying voice.
