  • This audiobook is absolutely stunning, with beautiful writing and expert narration. It takes you on a captivating journey through purgatory, vividly brought to life by the unique and imaginative perspective of the author, Brom.
  • This book is a mind-blowing experience that captivated me from start to finish. The author's depiction of purgatory is incredibly imaginative and leaves a lasting impression. It is a deeply moving story of a man's journey towards redemption, despite numerous setbacks in his life. The heartfelt emotions and transformative nature of the main character's difficult choices truly amazed me. Overall, this book is simply extraordinary.
  • In my opinion, the middle portion of the book felt a bit slow-paced. There were a plethora of details that seemed important at first but were quickly dismissed. Additionally, I noticed a couple of moments that felt contrived solely to advance the plot.
  • Wonderful descent into a world that shouldn't seem real yet manages to do so, whilst retaining many loved elements of this genre of writing. This was my first of Brom's reads, and whilst I have started a few others, cannot get into them like Lost Gods. Other reviewers have started the human characters are a bit flat - whilst this is mostly true, the interactions between them and the vivid reality of the Gods and other creatures allow you to not care about this small fact. Listening to the story allows you to create the world instantly for yourself, whilst keeping an eye on Brom's beautiful drawings. If you want a bit of non-reality, get into this!
