  • The voice acting in 'Mass Effect™ Andromeda: Nexus Uprising' is top-notch. However, it's unfortunate that the writing falls short. Considering the supposed expertise of the crew members, their irrational behavior throughout the story makes it difficult to suspend disbelief.
  • I gotta be honest, I couldn't finish the book... It just wasn't happening! The story had some promise, but it hit a wall after 50 minutes and just didn't progress! We've got a whole new colony, a whole new galaxy, and yet all we're given is the constant arguing between the main characters while everything falls apart! If you're not familiar with Mass Effect, the different alien species won't mean anything to you! Instead of toning down the arguing and giving us some explanation, we're stuck with even more arguing! The main character, Sloane Kelly, is a huge letdown! Supposed to be this tough, no-nonsense person, but she just comes off as an immature jerk who avoids responsibility! She's all about using foul language and probably spitting everywhere! Totally unprofessional! The story had potential, but unfortunately, it gets lost in the mess of the Nexus! The narrator was pretty decent, and she managed to keep me listening longer than I intended, but even she couldn't salvage the dull plot!
  • I dozed off a few times while trying to complete this audiobook. Despite its title, "Mass Effect™ Andromeda: Nexus Uprising," the story failed to captivate me, resulting in a mediocre space melodrama. Although the narrator's performance wasn't terrible, she wasn't the best fit for this particular story. Additionally, the way she portrayed the various characters made them all blend into one another. The only reason I listened was because it was free with my subscription.
