  • This audiobook was quite dull and extremely mundane. I didn't find the story engaging at all and ended up not completing it. It simply lacked any excitement or intrigue, leaving me feeling unimpressed. As for the narration, it was just alright. It didn't stand out as particularly bad, but it also didn't impress me as being particularly good.
  • This audiobook, "No Ordinary Billionaire," offers a captivating retelling of the popular novel "Fifty Shades of Grey." While it explores a similar theme, it introduces some unique twists that set it apart. It's evident that the author has made a conscious effort to select alternative language to avoid any accusations of plagiarism. It's difficult not to draw comparisons between the two works, as E.L. James has undeniably sparked a trend with her writing style.
  • Dante Sinclair, a homicide detective recovering from a gunshot wound, takes a break and returns to his hometown of Amesport, Maine. There, he meets Dr. Sarah Baxter and is immediately attracted to her, eventually falling in love. Right from the start, Dante is dominant, protective, and possessive, with his attention focused solely on Sarah. Sarah, a brilliant yet socially awkward woman with a low dating experience, is a likable and sweet heroine. Dante introduces her to new experiences, and things become more interesting when her attacker resurfaces. The supporting characters mainly consist of Dante's brothers and Sarah's two friends, one of whom is married to Dante's brother. Additional minor characters include Sarah's meddlesome mother, an inquisitive older woman who works for the local paper, and Sarah's dog. I listened to the audiobook on Kindle Unlimited, and the narrator, whom I've enjoyed in the past, did an equally fantastic job in this one. Overall, I enjoyed the book. However, I did have a couple of minor issues - Sarah's naivety seemed unrealistic for a 27-year-old, and I also found the excessive internal monologues of the main characters slightly overwhelming. While it's good to understand their thoughts, a bit less of it would have been ideal.
  • The author attempted to incorporate numerous personalities into a single character, resulting in a peculiarly emotionally unpredictable individual whom I struggle to connect with and prefer not to relate to. Furthermore, the inclusion of multiple sex scenes reminiscent of Fifty Shades of Grey is not to my taste, although I presume this book is recommended due to the current popularity of such fantasies.
  • The level of explicitness in the depiction of sexual encounters in this book is rather graphic. The plot of the story revolves predominantly around the characters engaging in intimate relations, leaving little room for substantial narrative development.
  • I usually take reviews into consideration, but with this book... it really caught my attention. I'm thrilled that I chose to give it a shot because it had its highs and lows... a captivating love story and an intriguing plot. Overall, I absolutely adored this book!
  • I highly recommend giving this audiobook a listen. I was captivated from start to finish, and I'm eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series. The combination of erotica, romance, and suspense was expertly delivered, with only brief interruptions. The narrator perfectly brought the story to life.
  • If you're in need of some steamy content, then this book is for you, as it revolves solely around sexuality. Absolutely ridiculous and mind-numbingly dull, this book turned out to be a major disappointment. I despised every aspect of it. However, I did give it a slightly higher performance rating out of sympathy for the narrator who had to endure reading it out loud.
