  • I absolutely despised the terrible anachronistic alterations. They completely destroyed one of my all-time beloved tales. If their intention was to create their own version of "Hook", they failed miserably.
  • What happens when you remove all the adventures considered politically incorrect? You're left with a void that needs to be filled. This adaptation attempts to fill that void with dull moments of the characters simply hanging out in an underground den, along with another uneventful scene involving a bird. However, the scenes featuring the pirates are absolutely hilarious, thanks to some outstanding performances. The rest of the story is mediocre at best. The performances across the board are solid, although Wendy tends to be a bit too dramatic. I can't comprehend why the time period was changed to World War II; it seemed unnecessary. Additionally, the decision regarding Mr. Smee at the end is bizarre and unrealistic. All in all, I found it to be a letdown.
  • This is a bit misleading. It wasn't actually written by Barrie. I'll admit, I didn't read the entire description and missed the period change. The story itself is pleasant, but it lacks the enchantment and lyrical quality of Barrie's writing. I had hoped for a rendition of the original play or book to share with my daughter, but this falls short of that.
