  • In 'Predator One: A Joe Ledger Novel, Book 7', we are given the opportunity to uncover, or speculate, some additional insights about Mr. Church. Furthermore, we witness the toll that the ongoing battles are taking on Team Ledger. This isn't a piece of highbrow literature, not by any means =), but it is an enjoyable and action-packed adventure. Just a word of caution, if you happen to be reading while driving, be prepared for some intense emotions that might result in a bit of growling.
  • I enjoyed it, but if you're not a fan of strong language, graphic violence, or if you prefer accuracy in technology portrayal, then you might want to skip this one. This was my first time reading a Joe Ledger book, and I have to say, it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The profanity and violence didn't bother me, but I found that there were numerous undeveloped characters, although that might be my fault for starting with the seventh book. The extraordinary abilities of Joe and Ghost, resembling those of wolverines, felt over the top. One explosion, and just two days later, they find themselves in another one, followed by more combat. There were plenty of cheesy lines, especially when the author attempted to be overly metaphorical. It was like seeing the Rock perform Shakespeare. Interestingly, the author also cleverly called out the villains on their predictable death lines. Lastly, the author seemed to rely too heavily on ending chapters with characters muttering or whispering a name or a certain number of words. It became a weak suspense tactic that was overused. The narrator did a decent job, although I felt that he often missed the mark when capturing Ledger's sarcastic tone during action scenes. Still, overall, a solid performance. As a mindless action book (which I typically enjoy), this would have probably been great for fans of the series. However, for me, I think this will likely be my only Joe Ledger book.
  • Ledger and Porter always make a winning team. This installment in the DMS saga is exceptional. It seamlessly connects with the previous books and mini-stories, prompting me to recall and reminisce, saying, "I remember that," during flashbacks and recollections. The only downside, which may vary depending on personal preference, is that there are a couple of explicit scenes involving torture and sex early on in the book, which I personally didn't enjoy. I opted to fast-forward through them. However, this should not discourage you from reading the book; just be prepared to skip those parts if they're not to your liking either. Overall, this book serves as a fantastic conclusion to the Seven Kings epic. I immersed myself in a marathon listening session, devouring the entire story in one go without pause. And Mr. Maberry, we definitely need more Bunny in the future.
  • This book never fails to leave you feeling fulfilled, yet somehow still wanting more. I absolutely adore Joe!!! The anticipation for the next installment is killing me. I'm so excited! :-)
  • Oh man, my pulse is still racing! I was totally hooked on this audiobook! The intense action, gripping storyline, and compelling characters had me completely captivated. But the real game-changer was Ray Porter's incredible narration, which took this story to a whole new level! Yet again, another fantastic installment in the Joe Ledger series that I absolutely loved!
  • This latest installment proved to be one of the most captivating additions to the Joe Ledger series! I thoroughly enjoyed it from start to finish. What made it particularly engaging was the fact that it wasn't just Joe who faced the attacks, but everyone else as well, and this change of pace was quite refreshing. Some characters evolved for the better, while others took a turn for the worse, leaving us eager to find out what will come next in the series. I must say, this book was overflowing with action, making it absolutely fantastic! Trust me, you'll adore it. I don't usually do this, but I'm definitely planning on re-reading it in the near future. As always, the narration was top-notch. Ray Porter did an outstanding job, bringing all the characters to life, especially Joe. It was truly remarkable! Overall, this addition was truly outstanding!
