Summary

Redeeming Love by Francine Rivers is a romance novel with its story in the 1850s in the gold rush California. The protagonists of the story are Sarah (commonly referred to as Angel) and Michael Hosea. Angel lives a dark life with a socially unacceptable profession. She was sold as a child in the world of prostitution. She was an illegitimate child and was rejected by her father. She becomes filled with hatred and vengeance especially towards men, who always use her leave her hollow and deathly from within.

Micheal Hosey seeks his father’s guidance and heart in everything he does. He did not think ever that he will find the love of his life in a brothel. Michael follows God’s guidance and obeys to ask Angel to be his wife and love her without any prejudice or conditions. He rescues her from her dark and gloomy world. He understands that Angel is hardened and has built internal defenses against men and the outer world.

Slowly, with his love, he starts addressing her apprehensions and Angle’s heart starts softening and melting in response to Michael’s love. However, with the passage of time Angel starts feeling unworthy and runs away from her husband to her previous dark world. Michael realizes that Angel must give her heart to someone who loves her more than him then only she can be in a position to give her heart to Michael.
