  • Save the Date was incredibly adorable! It was my first time diving into this author's work, but after experiencing this book, I'm definitely eager to explore more of their stories. Save the Date had a fantastic blend of different sub-genres, including one of my personal favorites: the fake relationship trope. It also incorporated elements of second-chance romance, brother's best friend, a wealthy hero, and contemporary themes, and the author effortlessly weaved them all together. Caroline and Alex share a history that goes way back to their childhood. They had their first kiss when Caroline was just twelve and Alex was fourteen, and Alex happened to be her brother's closest friend throughout middle school. However, they lost touch for nearly fifteen years. The story unfolds in California, where both Caroline and Alex reside, as well as in Paris, where they journey to and experience a significant portion of their reconnection. The romance between them evolves gradually, building up to the touchy-feely moments that occur in the final quarter of the book. Both narrators did a commendable job bringing the story to life. I'm thrilled that Save the Date was included in my service membership because it introduced me to a fresh and captivating author. Now, I'm curious to hear about the other friends within the group and their stories in the subsequent books of the series.
  • I don't get how this book has such a high rating of 4 1/2 stars. It seems like there are many people who enjoy dull and never-ending stories. The male narrator was fine, but the female narrator was equally uninteresting and lackluster, just like the story itself. Thank goodness I got this book for free, otherwise I would have definitely returned it. Unless you're in desperate need of something to lull you to sleep, don't bother wasting your time with it.
  • Are you in the mood for a hilarious and heartwarming book? Then "Save the Date" is the perfect choice for you. Monica Murphy masterfully combines humor, romance, second chances, childhood love, and sizzling passion in this delightful story. Caroline is an expert in helping people choose their wedding stationary, from save the dates to invitations. When her brother's old friend, Alex, walks in with his fiancée to select their items, Caroline's life takes an unexpected turn. Witnessing his fiancée's infidelity leads to the end of their engagement, while Alex's pursuit and his ex's stalking make things even more complicated. Could all this chaos possibly lead to happiness? This book is an absolute blast! I adore stories that delve into history and revisit that first teenage love, sparking those butterflies in the stomach. The banter between Caroline and Alex is electrifying, their chemistry undeniable, and the absurdity of the situation adds to the fun. It's a fast-paced, humorous, and thoroughly enjoyable listen. The narration duo of Ava Lucas and Jack DuPont truly bring the story to life with their incredible performances. As a big fan of Ava Lucas, I can't get enough of her seductive voice and impeccable comedic timing. She effortlessly gives Caroline a relatable and lovable personality. Jack DuPont's warm and sexy voice as Alex is irresistible, adding so much depth to the dual narration. Their interpretation of the story is highly entertaining, and you definitely don't want to miss it.
  • The protagonist in 'Save the Date' is absolutely insufferable and constantly puts themselves down. The story becomes excruciatingly predictable and it became a struggle to endure. Despite this, I couldn't help but find out how it all concluded, even though I had accurately anticipated the outcome. It's a decent option if you simply want to kill time or have something playing in the background for some mindless distraction.
