  • Shards of Honor is an amazing book with Cordelia Naismith as an exceptional and badass protagonist. It unfolds as a captivating love story that had me hooked from start to finish. I opted for the audio version, skillfully narrated by Grover Gardner. Initially, I found it odd to have a male narrator, but then I remembered that the majority of the VORKOSIGAN series is told from Miles' point of view.
  • I absolutely adored this audiobook. I'm eagerly anticipating the next one. Bujold is an incredibly talented writer who captivates her readers with every book. She expertly keeps the audience engaged and well-informed about the characters and situations, regardless of which book you begin with. And let me just say, I am absolutely smitten with the narrator! Please, please, please don't ever change him!
  • Bujold's debut novel, 'Shards of Honor', may be considered as her weakest work, but fans of the Vorkosigan clan or Bujold's writing in general should not overlook it. Despite having a somewhat clumsy plot and a writer who is still developing her worldview, I found myself captivated by the younger versions of the beloved characters and the familiar world that I had grown to adore in the later series. These early portrayals of the characters foreshadow their future selves in a way that leaves you eager to revisit the later novels. Grover Gardner's narration is exceptional, as always, and even if you haven't read Bujold's other books, I believe this one might pique your interest enough to give the next installment a try. However, it is truly a treat reserved for those who are already acquainted with Cordelia and Aral. Witnessing their younger, more clumsy selves is a delightful experience.
  • Excellent! Very good as to be expected.Lois Bujold continues to delight her adoring fans and I'm sure I speak for all of them that we hope to have more of Miles Vorkosigan and his many adventures. Please add in more of Lois Bujold's books on the Streaming Plan. Thank you.
