  • I was pleasantly surprised by how much I liked this book. Historically, I haven't been a fan of Rick Riordan, so I didn't have high expectations when I started reading this one. However, since it's a short book, I thought I could finish it quickly. While it doesn't quite reach the level of Harry Potter or Artemis Fowl, it's still a really enjoyable story. The plot moves at a fast pace and never gets too slow or boring. I also liked the way all the characters interacted with each other, including the cat who has quite the personality. The narrator does an excellent job of expressing emotions and giving each character a unique voice. It really adds to the enjoyment of listening to the audiobook. Now I'm really looking forward to book 2. I'm particularly curious to see how the different authors will impact the writing style. I'm glad that the narrator remains consistent throughout the series.
  • I gave this book a high rating because I believe it would be top-notch entertainment for kids between the ages of 10-14. As someone who reads a lot of young adult novels, I appreciate well-written stories in that genre. However, I felt that this particular book was geared towards a younger audience and not quite my cup of tea.
  • I gotta say, "The 39 Clues, Book 1: The Maze of Bones" is the bomb for a long road trip. It's perfect for both kids and adults. My 9-year-old daughter and I were glued to this audiobook yesterday as we cruised from Dunedin to Te Anau. Now I gotta make sure I grab the next book for our trip back!
  • I snagged this bad boy for my 13-year-old daughter and she was totally into it. She's already itching to dive into the next installment. David Pittu did a killer job as the narrator. Seriously, you gotta give it a listen!
