  • The narration in 'The Bone Witch: The Bone Witch, Book 1' was absolutely fantastic, although there were some issues with the sound balance. It was a bit of a bummer that I had to constantly adjust the volume throughout the audiobook. There were moments when the audio was barely service, while there were other times when it felt like it could wake up the entire household. Nevertheless, the voice artists themselves did an amazing job. Despite the sound issues, the story itself was incredibly engaging and kept me hooked. It has definitely laid a strong foundation for the second book in the series, and I'm eagerly looking forward to listening to it.
  • The Bone Witch: The Bone Witch, Book 1 had a promising start, focusing on a formidable young woman with extraordinary abilities. However, I was left with a negative impression due to the excessive emphasis on subservience and performing for men through bowing, being demure, dancing, and singing. It felt contradictory to the idea of these women possessing immense power, especially considering that most of them were minors who were expected to entertain nobility and kings while they indulged in drink. I appreciate the book's creativity, which is why I'm giving it three stars. However, I won't be continuing with the series, nor will I recommend it to my daughter.
  • I haven't read any books by this author before, but I really enjoyed this series. If you're a fan of fantasy, epic battles between good and evil, and mythical creatures like dragons, then this is the perfect series for you. It's classified as young adult, but even if you're an adult like me who still loves bedtime stories, you won't be disappointed. The romance picks up more in the second and third book, but the storytelling is done skillfully and the descriptions are absolutely stunning. I can see myself coming back to this series over and over again. Just a word of warning, if you get sucked into the story, don't expect to get much sleep until you reach the last line of the third book. Enjoy!
