  • "The Bookshop on the Corner" is an incredible tale about how one can completely transform their life in the most unexpected of places. Both the main characters embark on a journey of self-discovery and learn to embrace the limitless possibilities that life has to offer, all while finding solace in each other's company.
  • I absolutely loved this book. All the characters were incredibly relatable, and by the end, I found myself genuinely invested in each of their stories. It made me yearn to relocate to the charming Scottish small town it was set in. The only downside I could find was that Nina always seemed to have the ideal book for every person she encountered, which felt somewhat unrealistic. Despite that minor flaw, I wholeheartedly recommend this book.
  • I was really let down by the excessive use of profanity in this audiobook. It got to the point where I almost quit listening altogether. I truly believe that the story would have been more enjoyable had it been devoid of such language.
  • This book was chosen by my book club. It's a very straightforward story. Completely predictable and not really noteworthy in terms of literary value, other than being the kind of book you read while on summer vacation and then quickly forget about by the pool.
  • Why isn't there a 3.5 rating available? This audiobook is like a sappy book for girls, mixing sentimentality with some anticipated twists and turns in the plot. It's an easygoing story that you can enjoy as a background while doing other things.
  • I must confess, I have a weakness for books that revolve around books, and the title of "The Bookshop on the Corner" immediately caught my attention. So, did it live up to my expectations? Well, it's not too shabby. This charming romance novel tells the story of a resilient single woman, who happens to be a book aficionado, and finds herself starting anew after a corporate shakeup in the library system (yes, that's right!). She embarks on a journey to Scotland where she sells books from a bus. Although I must admit, the title is a tad misleading as the bookshop is not actually on a corner. But hey, that's just a minor setback. Overall, this book is cute, whimsical, and it ignited a deep desire within me to explore Scotland. I reckon it's a perfect choice for when you're in the mood for a lighter read in between more intense ones.
  • I really enjoyed the British accents in the audiobook, but that was pretty much its only redeeming quality. It became quite predictable after just six chapters, and the outcome of the 37 chapters was easily foreseeable. The portrayal of bookworms as nerdy losers, as well as the inclusion of other stereotypical characters like strong, silent men haunted by their pasts but ultimately kind-hearted, left much to be desired.
  • This chick lit book, 'The Bookshop on the Corner', is decently enjoyable just like many others in the genre. However, it lacks any unique or remarkable elements, and there are no unexpected twists in the plot. It's reminiscent of watching a typical Hallmark Christmas movie, which can be a comforting experience for some. I was a bit taken aback considering the series' popularity and strong marketing, but I personally have no intention of reading any more books from this series or spending money to listen to them.
  • The main character in "The Bookshop on the Corner" really grated on my nerves. I was seriously tempted to give up on listening to it altogether. However, I managed to power through and finish the book. Overall, it didn't rank very high on my list of enjoyable listens or books.
  • This book is an absolute delight for those who appreciate a heartwarming narrative without veering into excessive sentimentality. It offers a charming and enjoyable experience, especially for avid readers. The quality of the narration is truly top-notch.
