  • This book is poorly written and lacks any real substance. The author comes across as incredibly self-absorbed and constantly brags about herself. It's definitely not worth investing your time into listening to or spending money on the download.
  • I picked up this book with the expectation of being entertained, but unfortunately, Amy delves into some intense stories about her upbringing that are both melancholic and uncomfortable.
  • Having watched Trainwreck, I already had a taste of Amy Schumer's humor, so I was excited to delve into "The Girl with the Lower Back Tattoo". However, I found myself a bit let down as the book veered away from her trademark comedy and instead offered a narrative centered around the author's life experiences. At the age of 35, Schumer seemed focused on providing constant reassurance on the journey towards self-acceptance, rather than delivering a laugh-out-loud read. All in all, it left me feeling disappointed.
  • I couldn't even get through this book. All she does is keep talking about her achievements and how she generously shares her wealth. The constant use of vulgar jokes loses their charm after a while. It feels like she's a 14-year-old showing off and trying to sound cool. The narration lacks any emotion and at times it feels like I'm listening to a student reading out loud in class.
  • I'm a fan of Amy, but I decided to return the book since it didn't resonate with me. There were quite a few somber tales in there. I can see how it was a therapeutic experience for her though.
  • If you're a fan of Amy, you're gonna be head over heels for this book. And if you weren't a fan before, you will be by the time you finish it. I genuinely believe that the funniest comedians often have the biggest and most loyal hearts underneath their sometimes tough exteriors, and Amy is a prime example of that. This book doesn't hold back on sharing the gritty details of her challenging life and experiences, but what's truly remarkable is how this determined, clever, young woman always manages to come out on top. As expected, her stories are absolutely hilarious. But what's unexpected is the genuine kindness and sincerity that shines through in every page of this five-star book. It's a rollercoaster ride of belly laughs, tears (and I mean ugly crying), moments of enlightenment, inspiration, more laughter, and pure heartfelt emotion. Trust me, you won't regret giving this one a listen.
