  • I gotta say, I stuck it out with the whole audiobook, but the more I listened, the more it started to get on my nerves. The plot just didn't have that punch, and the narrator's performance didn't do it any favors either. I still can't shake off that high-pitched voice he used for the female characters, and those distracting false leads and unnecessary tangents about random things really got under my skin.
  • "The Narrows" is the 10th book in the Harry Bosch series by Michael Connelly and the 14th overall. Once again, the focus is on the notorious serial killer known as the Poet. This time, our protagonist is none other than Harry Bosch himself. It's an enthralling tale that follows up on the events of "The Poet" after a span of 8 years. Fans will be delighted to see familiar faces like Rachel Walling, Terry McCaleb, and Cassie Black making appearances in "The Narrows." I highly recommend this book!
  • Let me start by saying that 'Bloodwork', one of the books that sets up 'The Narrows', is hands down one of the most thrilling suspense reads ever. It was that book that got me hooked on Connelly. 'The Narrows' is an excellent continuation of the story. Right from the beginning, you'll be captivated by some fantastic hooks. Connelly's characters feel genuine and have depth. Bosch stands tall among the great characters in this genre, reminiscent of Clancy's Jack Ryan. I don't know if there's anything I can add that hasn't already been said, but even if you haven't read 'Bloodwork', this is a fantastic and satisfying read. If you've got plenty of free time, I highly recommend buying 'The Poet', 'Bloodwork', and 'The Narrows', and reading them all consecutively. You won't be let down.
