  • The author who also serves as a prosecutor seems to have an inflated sense of his own legal prowess, comparing himself to iconic TV lawyers like Perry Mason, Matlock, and Jack McCoy. Throughout a significant portion of the book, he indulges in self-aggrandizement, constantly emphasizing his own greatness to the reader or listener. Additionally, the inclusion of various emails written by the defendants proves to be a painful experience when they are read aloud, largely due to the excessive presence of poor grammar. While the case itself is intriguing, the book itself leaves much to be desired.
  • I really liked the story, but the author comes across as really arrogant and keeps bragging about themselves. It would have been so much better if someone else had written it and focused more on the characters involved in the case instead of the author's ego.
  • The story was absolutely captivating. Once I started listening to it, I couldn't tear myself away. The narration had its moments of being a bit formal and other moments where it just flowed naturally. It truly emphasized the intelligence and psychological complexities of the individuals involved.
  • Dennis Brooks does a great job going inside the twisted world of the Potter family and the strange delusions that led to their murderous acts. As the prosecuting DA on the case, he obviously had access to all the details from the beginning, but his own curiosity led him to delve even deeper into what made them all tick. This is a well-paced, well-plotted story that will have you shaking your head in amazement.
