  • This book is way too complex for my taste. The narrator's reading style doesn't really motivate me to keep listening. I still haven't managed to reach the end of the book. It feels like the author assumes the reader has some background in either the medical field or law enforcement, which didn't work for me. Personally, this book didn't impress me.
  • Although the plot became monotonous, the pacing of the narration was painfully sluggish. It was so slow that the delivery of sentences and pauses often confused the intended emphasis. As a result, I found it impossible to stay engaged with the story.
  • I've been struggling for weeks to get through this audiobook on my iPod, man. The narrator is absolutely terrible that I can hardly bear to listen for more than a few minutes at a stretch, even though the story itself is pretty intriguing and I should be dying to know what happens next. It's a complete waste of both money and time, dude.
  • Perhaps the issue lies in the fact that I've been binging this series back to back, but I'm honestly getting exhausted with Benton. I absolutely despise the way his voice is portrayed, have zero interest in hearing him discuss fetishes, and I'm completely done with their combination.
  • I've actually grown accustomed to the narrator's flaws after some time. In fact, I've reached a point where I anticipate them. But now, the service has gone and replaced the narrator on me! The upcoming book will feature a new narrator, and unfortunately, she's even worse. I've decided to throw in the towel...
  • I'm having an absolute blast listening to this series in chronological order. I'm really getting to know the characters as they evolve. I can't wait for the TV show to hit the screens.
  • I couldn't even make it through the first half-hour of this audiobook due to the dreadful narration. I gave it multiple tries, pausing and returning to it later, hoping that maybe I was just being too sensitive initially. Unfortunately, the narrator's delivery is completely off, with misplaced inflections and awkward pauses. I had to constantly rewind and listen again to passages just to understand what Patricia Cornwell had actually written, as it was almost unrecognizable from what the narrator read. It's frustrating to have wasted my credit on this audiobook, as now I have to purchase a physical copy in order to read it for myself. I only wish I had the time to sit down and do so.
  • I really enjoyed the different settings in 'Unnatural Exposure', from Tangier Island to USAMRID. A well-crafted story about an outbreak always keeps you on the edge of your seat, and this book definitely delivered on that front.
  • The book was very technical and a little boring. None of the "usual" suspense found in Ms. Cornwell's books. I listened to the first disc and then skipped to the last disc so that I could find out "who done it".
  • This was pretty typical Cornwell fare, and medical examiner Kay Scarpetta is up to her old tricks. Cornwell can always be relied on for a solid story and interesting plot twists and this book is no exception. Even if you have never listened to a Cornwell before, this is a good one.
