  • I absolutely adored this book! The way their love blossomed was incredibly heartwarming ❤️ The classic elements of a romance novel were expertly intertwined, and Tessa skillfully immerses you in the world of her characters, making you genuinely care for them.
  • While it may not rank as my absolute favorite from Tessa Dare, "When a Scot Ties the Knot: Castles Ever After" still delivers the trademark wit, originality, humor, and romance that I've come to expect from her. I thoroughly enjoyed it!
  • This book might seem a little unbelievable, but hey, that's why it's called fiction, am I right? The characters were nicely developed and the story flowed at a nice, easygoing pace. The narration was fantastic. Ms. Rose really knows how to captivate with her amazing reading voice and impressive accents. It was a truly delightful experience.
  • The premise of the book seemed interesting, but the execution left me feeling uncomfortable. In today's society, the actions of the male protagonist would be considered inappropriate and could result in legal consequences. Despite the storyline taking a different direction, it doesn't excuse his initial intentions and the questionable behavior he would have displayed if not for a few obstacles. Additionally, the fact that the heroine finds his aggressive and oppressive personality acceptable solely because of his attractive appearance is problematic. Personally, I'm not a fan of Tessa Dare's writing style, as there tends to be an excessive focus on intimate details. Although this book received positive reviews for its humor and uniqueness, I regret not reading the reviews on Goodreads before spending my money on it. Many of those reviews accurately express why the actions of both the main characters are cringeworthy. Unfortunately, I couldn't finish reading it and it's a DNF (did not finish) for me.
  • First and foremost, I want to give a big shout-out to Carmen Rose for her fantastic narration skills. She captured the Scottish accents flawlessly, or at least as flawlessly as I imagine they should be. Tessa Dare is truly a master of her craft. This series has become one of my absolute favorites. Just imagine the shock of fabricating a fiancé, only to have him appear right in front of you, in the flesh. Tessa brings these characters to life in a way that is both humorous and heartwarming. I absolutely adore Maddie - it's impossible not to love someone who cares so deeply for a pair of lobsters. And Logan, well, he's a true Highlander, complete with all the ruggedness and unwavering commitment that comes with it. Throw in a painful childhood and his belief that he's incapable of feeling love (or so he thinks), and you've got yourself an incredibly enjoyable love story set in a Scottish castle. The only downside for me was that it felt a little slow towards the end. But that aside, I still loved it immensely. I'm already eagerly anticipating Tessa Dare's next book. I was truly saddened when this book came to an end, and in my opinion, that's the mark of a truly captivating story.
  • This is a well-crafted tale with unconventional occurrences and a good dose of humor. I particularly enjoyed the part where the fictional love interest shows up and his affection grows as his attachment to the letters becomes evident. The intimate moments are skillfully depicted and narrated, capturing the right amount of detail, atmosphere, and pacing. The poignant scene where she finds him shivering in the night and his revelation about his abandonment evoked a sense of sadness, while the humor sprinkled throughout, especially in the initial sharing of the letter details, had me smiling and laughing out loud.
  • Tessa Dare strikes gold once again with "When a Scot Ties the Knot: Castles Ever After." This captivating novel introduces readers to a refreshingly unique hero and a brilliant heroine whose intelligence is simply captivating. The clever and humorous exchanges in this story had me bursting into fits of laughter on numerous occasions. Truly a winning read!
  • I really enjoy this book, the witty humor, the well-developed characters, and the way the plot unfolds. I've listened to it multiple times, always coming back for the charming storyline and the hilarious dialogue. I do finish it every time, but the narrator's decision to adopt an almost monotonous tone for the descriptive parts detracts from my overall enjoyment of the audiobook. The memories of the story will bring me back to listen again, but the narration style leaves me craving for something more. It's a bit disappointing, to be honest. Perhaps reading the book in print would offer a better experience.
