Summary

Considering his history with Mariketa the Awaited, Bowen MacRieve of the Lykae clan should be pleased when dark forces unite against her. • Bowen, oh Bowen! Wasn't it already enough for him to lose one mate? Does he really have to torment another? This Lykae finds himself in quite a predicament in this book, managing to anger half of the Lore by trapping some of its members. Thankfully, he's as werewolf and strong as they come, ready to make amends. But Mariketa wastes no time in reminding him that she's not a witch to be messed with. How can he assist her when he's been her greatest adversary? This Lykae possesses impressive skills and will utilize his age, experience, and strength to emerge victorious and protect the woman he loves. As far as I'm concerned, Robert Petkoff is the only narrator fit for this series. His accents are simply delightful, and I can't help but expect to hear his voice whenever I pick up one of Cole's audiobooks. It's just beyond me why the entire series isn't available yet. We'll be eagerly listening.
  • I really enjoyed the character of Bowen, so I was thrilled when this book was released. Although the constant back and forth between the two main characters drags on a bit, it's still a highly enjoyable story. Once again, the narrator does an excellent job.
  • I'm absolutely obsessed with these characters. Their banter and individual traits are just so captivating. The plotlines of the stories and the way they are brought to life through the narration are absolutely brilliant. I can't even express how fortunate I feel to have stumbled upon this series. Each book just keeps getting better and better, leaving me craving for more.
  • Can I just say, this book series is something else? I mean, if you've listened to any of them, you know what I'm talking about. The plot and story line may be similar in all her books, but Kresely manages to make each character stand out with their own unique personality. It never gets boring, trust me! And let's talk about Petkoff, the narrator. How does he manage to keep all the characters and accents straight? Seriously, the guy is a legend. Plus, I can't help but wonder if he looks as good as his voice sounds. Keep up the great work, Petkoff!
  • When it comes to audiobooks, I've learned that choosing the right narrator is crucial to bringing the author's vision to life. It's an art form, and if the selection falls short, even a great book can become unbearable to listen to. However, when the pairing is perfect, especially with strong source material, it creates an audiobook that you'll want to listen to repeatedly and devour every book in the series. "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night: Immortals After Dark, Book 4" is exactly that - I can't imagine anyone improving upon Robert Petkoff's performance with Kresley Cole's books. Of course, it doesn't hurt that the book itself is simply fantastic. In this installment, we follow Bowen McReive, a character introduced in earlier books by Cole. Bowen is a tormented soul, driven to turn back time in order to bring his long-deceased mate back to life. However, after about 34 chapters, it finally dawns on him that he may have had it wrong all along. Both the male and female lead characters are strong-willed, opinionated, and intelligent, albeit a bit clueless when it comes to relationships. As a romance, a happily ever after is expected, but the journey to get there is where the fun lies, and in this case, it's an exhilarating ride thanks to the author's skill. There's character development, humor, entertaining insults, a paranormal plot, and the introduction of amazing secondary characters that we'll get to know better in future books. While "Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night" can be enjoyed as a standalone, truly appreciating the interconnectedness of the characters in the series requires starting with book one. So, dive into this one, but make sure to go back and grab the earlier audiobooks. Trust me, you won't want to miss out on the journey.
  • This series is absolutely amazing! Kresley Cole is an incredible writer, and Robert Petkoff does an outstanding job as the narrator. These books are full of suspense, action, intense desire, unexpected plot twists, heartfelt romance, and most importantly, they're hilarious! I'm completely hooked on the service and no longer have the time to read physical books. However, I'm still contemplating whether I should buy the fourth book in paperback. But then I'll miss out on Robert Petkoff's deep, captivating, and sexy voice that brings Cole's characters to life. Instead, I'd rather bug the service and Simon & Schuster Audio until they give in to my demands! Who's with me? I'm guessing that the content available on the service is largely driven by customer requests... maybe we can even start a petition.
