  • The story was solid. My rating was influenced by the profanity used, which I would have preferred to be excluded. The characters were well-developed and the storyline remained captivating from start to finish.
  • Loretta Chase strikes again with another incredibly entertaining tale in "A Duke in Shining Armor: Difficult Dukes," brought to life by the always exceptional Kate Reading. It's classic Chase through and through, filled with humor, captivating characters, and a heartwarming romance. This charming book marks the beginning of the beloved Difficult Duke's series, leaving readers eagerly anticipating the next installment. Kudos to Ms. Chase and Ms. Reading for delivering such an enjoyable experience. We can only hope they don't keep us waiting too long for the next adventure.
  • The story had potential, but it ended up being too comedic for my taste. It seemed like Loretta Chase was trying to capture the essence of her book "Lord of Scoundrels," which I absolutely love, but this book fell short. The chemistry between the main characters was lacking, although it had the potential to be there. I really liked the heroine and found the hero to be likeable, but their connection didn't feel genuine in my opinion. The dynamic between the three Dis-Graces was excessively silly. The dog's character could have been better developed, and some of the supporting characters could have played a stronger role. One example of a supporting character that I had in mind is Jones, the young boy who provided directions. Additionally, the chase and adventure dragged on for too long without a satisfying resolution. There were a few amusing moments that I enjoyed, but I won't be continuing with this series because I didn't feel invested in any of the characters. Kate Reading, with all her talent, deserves five stars, but even she couldn't salvage this book.
