  • Out of the 220 books in my collection, this one easily makes it into the top 10. It's absolutely amazing! The production quality is top-notch, and as someone who has never read the original, I was blown away by the fast-paced and thrilling storyline. I highly recommend it!
  • I've checked out various versions of Dracula and although I usually don't enjoy audiobooks with multiple narrators, this Cummings/Curry version feels like the authentic way to experience Dracula. I listened to this with my kids every morning on our way to school for an entire month. I could probably write a whole essay on how Stoker's portrayal of women irked my 10-year-old daughter. The way Mina Harker and Lucy were fixated on getting married and their Victorian helplessness really bothered my own little Emmeline. My daughter also couldn't stand the whole idea of Mina being described as "smart as a man." Other than that, Dracula remains a captivating work of gothic fiction that captures the anxieties and tensions of a time on the cusp of modernity (sex, feminism, technology, scientific method, xenophobia, colonialism, and so on).
  • This is pretty well read, although the English accents are quite bizarre! I can only assume the parts were read by non-English people. It's a bit distracting at times, but overall an enjoyable book.
