I really wanted 'Losing Hope: A Novel' to have more substance! It would have been great if the book delved deeper into the characters' lives as adults. I particularly enjoyed getting more insights into Les's life and understanding her motivations for the tragic suicide (that part wasn't enjoyable, but it was well-written). The final few chapters were definitely the highlight of the book, but overall, it took quite a while for the story to pick up its pace.
Colleen is hands down one of my top authors, and her work is simply fantastic. The initial book in this series was an absolute masterpiece, deserving of a solid five-star rating. However, I must admit that I rated this book a three-star simply because, apart from the last chapter, it felt like a rehash of the first book. Granted, it was from Dean's perspective, but there wasn't much new information to be found here. Nevertheless, I adore the characters and their happily ever after. I'm eagerly anticipating reading "Finding Cinderella" because I have a feeling it will be an uproarious read, thanks to the captivating leading man in the story!
