  • I really enjoyed this story, it had engaging characters and a deep psychological aspect that kept me on my toes. The narration was top-notch, with excellent use of different voices. It definitely had me hooked throughout.
  • Oh my god, that ending was mind-blowing!!!! I don't get why characters in books never choose to be honest with their partners instead of risking everything and digging themselves into deeper trouble. But I guess if they did, we wouldn't have captivating stories like this one. The twists in this book were really well-crafted, and while I saw a few of them coming, the majority caught me completely off guard. This audiobook had me on the edge of my seat, but I have to admit, it could be uncomfortable for those who have personal experiences with suicide. A little heads-up about the numerous mentions of it would be great. However, the ending was definitely the highlight for me. It took me by surprise and then some! Absolutely fantastic stuff.
  • I've read Crazy for You and Bet Me, and looked forward to my first Jennifer Cruise audiobook. Those were great fun. However, I was a bit disappointed. The main character comes across as not too swift at times, and a little slow to get the point. (Hmm, I'm repeating myself there.) She seems to make too much of every little thing, while the obvious eludes her, even while the boyfriend is pointing it out. And no matter how shocked I was, I don't think I'd leave the contents of a safe deposit box just sitting there - clearly, she needed to stop the plans in place. Perhaps this is just not the sort of woman I'd be friends with. It was read well enough, but the whole story could have been better.
  • I love to listen to Jennifer Crusie books because they always make me laugh. This one is no exception. I also loved that within this funny romance was a serious mystery. Her husband is successful but his greed for money turned him into a liar and a thief. Her mother is the town gossip. The man she truly loved from years ago is back in town to help her and her daughter through the turmoil that has developed in the small town. I'd also like to reccomend 'Fast Women' by Jennifer Crusie, except that I don't see it offered here. Once you start listening or reading stories by Crusie you can't get enough.
