Summary

The Seven Cities Rebellion has been crushed. Sha’ik is dead. One last rebel force remains, holed up in the city of Y’Ghatan and under the fanatical command of Leoman of the Flails. The prospect of laying siege to this ancient fortress makes the battle-weary Malazan Fourteenth Army uneasy. For it was here that the Empire’s greatest champion, Dassem Ultor, was slain and a tide of Malazan blood spilled. A place of foreboding, its smell is of death. But elsewhere, agents of a far greater conflict have made their opening moves. The Crippled God has been granted a place in the pantheon; a schism threatens and sides must be chosen. Whatever each god decides, the ground rules have changed irrevocably, terrifyingly, and the first blood spilled will be in the mortal world. A world in which a host of characters, familiar and new, including Heboric Ghost Hands; the possessed Apsalar; Cutter, once a thief now a killer; the warrior Karsa Orlong; and the two ancient wanderers Icarium and Mappo, each searching for such a fate as they might fashion with their own hands, guided by their own will. If only the gods would leave them alone. But now that knives have been unsheathed, the gods are disinclined to be kind. There shall be war, war in the heavens. And the prize? Nothing less than existence itself . . .

  • Steven Erickson truly delivers an epic masterpiece with "The Bonehunters: Malazan Book of the Fallen, Book 6". This book is a top-tier fantasy read that easily stands out among the best of the past ten years.
  • "The Bonehunters: Malazan Book of the Fallen, Book 6" is hands down the greatest fantasy series I've ever had the pleasure of delving into. It's unapologetically amazing and utterly brilliant!
  • Let me begin by expressing my opinion that the voice utilized by MichaePage (Narrator) for Icarium is incredibly terrible and completely unacceptable. It is an absolute failure. However, despite the extensive array of characters, he manages to provide outstanding voices and maintain a great sense of pacing throughout the audiobook.
  • Just like his previous works, "The Bonehunters: Malazan Book of the Fallen, Book 6" is absolutely mind-blowing. I can't get enough of the intense action, captivating characters, and thought-provoking philosophical elements. These books are truly legendary and deserve all the praise they receive.
  • I discovered that, like the previous books, 'The Bonehunters: Malazan Book of the Fallen, Book 6' was an enjoyable read. However, I only felt motivated to continue reading when I was driving or occupied with other tasks. The story tends to wander, and there were an overwhelming number of characters to keep track of. Nevertheless, the exploits of the immortal duo Mappo and Ichariam continue to offer engaging philosophical discussions. The Tobliki remains a formidable soldier, and the schemes of Shadow Throne in his quest for global dominance make for captivating listening material. Overall, these aspects greatly added to my enjoyment of the audiobook.
  • This story is absolutely incredible. The battle scenes are absolutely captivating. I ended up staying awake way past my bedtime because I couldn't tear myself away from listening to it.
