Summary
The year is 1803, and England and France remain at odds. Hoping to break the English once and for all, Napoleon backs a ring of Irish rebels in uprisings against England and sends the Black Tulip, France's most deadly spy, to the Emerald Isle to help. What they don't know is that England's top spy is also in Ireland: the Pink Carnation, who is working to shut the rebels down.
I wasn't very impressed with this book. I enjoy historical fiction so that kept my interest, but the sections that returned to our present day were boring. The plot wasn't very creative and the writer had the habit of always interjecting a comment after every line of dialogue, which I found really annoying. This is an author I don't want to read again--there are too many good books out there.
