Summary

#1 New York Times bestselling author Nora Roberts cordially invites you to meet childhood friends Parker, Emma, Laurel, and Mac - the founders of Vows, one of Connecticut's premier wedding planning companies. After years of throwing make-believe weddings in the backyard, flowers, photography, desserts, and details are what these women do best: a guaranteed perfect, beautiful day full of memories to last the rest of your life. With bridal magazine covers to her credit, Mackensie "Mac" Elliot is most at home behind the camera - ready to capture the happy moments she never experienced while growing up. Her father replaced his first family with a second, and now her mother, moving on to yet another man, begs Mac for attention and money. Mac's foundation is jostled again moments before an important wedding planning meeting when she bumps into the bride-to-be's brother...an encounter that has them both seeing stars. Carter Maguire is definitely not her type: he's stable, and he's safe. He's even an English teacher at their high school alma mater. There's something about him that makes Mac think a casual fling is just what she needs to take her mind off dealing with bride-zillas and screening her mother's phone calls. But a casual fling can turn into something more when you least expect it. And with the help of her three best friends - and business partners - Mac must learn how to make her own happy memories...

  • This story isn't half bad, although it does spend quite a bit of time focusing on the intricacies of wedding design. If you're not into the nitty-gritty of fulfilling a girl's wedding fantasies, you might find it a bit challenging (just like I did!). At its core, it's a simple, straight-up love story, and while the main character did irritate me a few times, the hero is absolutely amazing. Plus, it has its fair share of funny moments. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to download this in the new Enhanced format because my trusty old iPod nano is too outdated. Even at the highest quality I could manage, the audio was subpar – the bass was overwhelming and it had a slight fuzziness. I eventually got used to it, but considering the price of these audiobooks, they should definitely be a breeze to listen to. Anyway, if you're a fan of heartwarming love stories without any despicable villains or major disasters getting in the way of true love, then I highly recommend giving this a shot.
  • As a massive Nora Roberts enthusiast, I must say that I was quite disappointed with this one. Unfortunately, I couldn't bring myself to complete the entire book. The story lacks the necessary substance, and the characters feel shallow and lacking in depth. Additionally, the narration leaves much to be desired.
  • As someone who has been a dedicated fan of Nora Roberts and her captivating novels for a considerable amount of time, I must admit that "Vision in White: The Bride Quartet, Book 1" left me somewhat unsatisfied. It was a struggle to reach the end, primarily due to my lack of affinity for the leading lady. Moreover, the hero failed to meet the high bar set by Roberts in her previous works. All in all, quite disappointing.
