  • I was really excited for this book, but I have to say it didn't live up to the greatness of Dark Disciple. The spy story felt unrealistic and the narrator struggled with portraying male voices effectively. There were several instances where I mistook a male character for a female one because of her narration.
  • The storyline in 'Battlefront II: Inferno Squad (Star Wars)' lacked excitement and depth, failing to deliver any unexpected twists. The excessive use of interrogative words felt forced and unnatural, detracting from the overall enjoyment. Unfortunately, the book failed to capture the essence of the Star Wars universe, lacking the familiar atmosphere. The only saving grace for this review is the mere fact that it is set in the Star Wars universe, preventing it from receiving a one-star rating.
  • The narration in 'Battlefront II: Inferno Squad (Star Wars)' is really grating, like nails on a chalkboard. The story line lacks strength and could definitely use some improvement. It's not the worst out there, but it's certainly not top-notch. The overall rating would be a solid D.
  • The narration in 'Battlefront II: Inferno Squad (Star Wars)' was spot-on. The story unfolded in intriguing shades of grey, which is a rarity in the Star Wars universe. The characters were endearing, and I thoroughly enjoyed following them through the unpredictable twists and turns of the plot. This book is a must-read for anyone who wants to delve deeper into the campaign of Battlefront II.
  • You know, this book lacked any action and had very little adventure. I can't exactly call it a terrible story, it just wasn't a great one. The performance was alright, but I never really felt engaged in this book. Overall, it was pretty dull. Definitely not what I anticipated from a "Star Wars" novel.
  • As a huge Star Wars fan, I must say that this book was a major disappointment. It started off strong, but then took a stumble and never quite recovered. The main issue lies with the story itself, which was rather lackluster, especially considering the anticipation surrounding Battlefront 2. It's a shame that they didn't incorporate Twilight Company into the first Battlefront, as that turned out to be a much more engaging tale. Unfortunately, this book falls short on every front. I was expecting more intense special forces missions, like daring raids, assisting stormtroopers in ambushes, escort duties, rescuing rebel leaders, and basically showcasing why this squad is supposed to be so badass. Instead, the author and editor decided to focus on a CIA-style infiltration mission, which in hindsight doesn't make much sense. The main character is portrayed as a fiercely dedicated and strong leader, but throughout the story, her actions are driven by her emotions rather than logic. Without giving away any spoilers, it feels like the story is leading towards the main character joining the rebels in Battlefront 2, which many people already suspected. I just hope it's not that predictable.
  • The story in Battlefront II: Inferno Squad (Star Wars) moves at a slow pace, which might not be everyone's cup of tea. Additionally, the title can be misleading as there is not much action in the book. A significant portion of the story focuses on developing the characters of the inferno squad as sympathetic imperials on an impossible mission. While a slow burn approach can be appealing, the problem lies in the fact that, apart from Iden Versio, the rest of the squad doesn't evoke much interest as characters. Furthermore, some elements of the story are hard to believe even in the context of the Star Wars universe. The ending is not satisfying enough to redeem the book, and the overall story falls flat due to characters and story beats that fail to captivate the reader. Janina Gavankar does a commendable job with the narration, although there are moments when her delivery of dialogue feels too robotic and detached, which detracts from the overall storytelling. It is possible that this book might have been more enjoyable without the audio format. While I am generally a fan of most of the new Star Wars canon on audio, Battlefront II: Inferno Squad misses the mark for me.
  • I couldn't even make it through the whole thing. Janina's narration was alright and I feel bad for her because she seems really excited about her new part in Star Wars. However, the plot is just uninteresting and lacks substance.
