Review

In the audiobook Big Magic, its author, Elizabeth Gilbert proposes a guide to attain the courage needed to live a creative life. Of course, it does not necessarily mean that you will become an artist or anything like that. She states that if you are alive, you are creative which means that instead of being driven by fear, you are supposed to be led by curiosity. She also points out that most people live in fear to such degree that one something good happens to them or they achieve an important thing in their lives, they expect something negative afterwards or to be rid of that achievement.

However, Gilbert claims that this kind of thinking can immediately shatter your creativity and immerse you in fear. We must not live in perfectionism but embrace our particularity and be happy by being good enough.

Don’t try to be perfect, just be the best you can be and sometimes it makes you the very best at something in particular. You also need to let go of the competition and begin walking your own path.
