  • I definitely recommend this book, especially in a time when there's so much fake news going around. It's refreshing to hear from someone who actually experienced those defining moments in black history firsthand.
  • In this audiobook, the author shares captivating anecdotes about various individuals, although some of them may come across as embellished. However, I reached my breaking point when the author delved into the far-fetched claim that Michael Jackson was assassinated by a laser. As a result, I decided to discontinue listening.
  • Although there were aspects of this book that I found enjoyable, such as its ability to inspire further research and contemplation on historical moments and conspiracy theories, I was not a fan of the narrator's voice. It made the reading experience quite challenging. Additionally, I felt that the book lacked coherence at times. Dick Gregory would begin discussing a topic, then transition to another without clear connections. Some of these tangents would eventually tie back together, while others would simply trail off, much like the book's ending.
  • In 'Defining Moments in Black History: Reading Between the Lies', Mr. Gregory presents eye-opening insights that encourage readers to question the veracity of what they hear.
  • The audiobook 'Defining Moments in Black History: Reading Between the Lies' began on a high note, offering insightful historical references and providing behind-the-scenes perspectives. However, as it progressed, it lost its momentum and veered into meandering and unsupported personal opinions.
  • This book offers readers a captivating glimpse into the lesser-known aspects of black history, shedding light on influential leaders who may have remained obscure without immersing oneself in its contents.
  • This book is absolutely one of the best ones I've listened to, and I can't wait to give it another go. I really appreciate what this book has to offer, and it's definitely a must-read that you won't want to miss out on.
