Summary

Emotional Intelligence 2.0 is an audiobook by Travis Bradberry and Jean Greaves. It portraits an idea that challenges the traditional perspective of intelligence and success. The traditional perspective is that I.Q is directly connected with intelligence and success. A person’s IQ is an evaluation that doesn’t include important intangible elements as the same time that includes more tangible ones.

Emotional intelligence is incredibly important as well as intelligence. Moreover, personality is an important element that contributes to not only to a person’s success but also to their function. The way we think and behave can be defined with the help of IQ, EQ, and personality.

Love passion and kindness are as difficult to trace as emotional intelligence and this is why they are called intangible.

This audiobook helps you understand how the different emotions are developed in you and how to handle them by taking advantage of or even suppress them. We tend to be controlled by extreme motions such as fear, love, happiness, etc. And this composition is made to help you control everything that compounds your personality by creating habits that will help you recognize these emotions.

  • This audiobook, 'Emotional Intelligence 2.0', is nothing but a bunch of nonsense and feels more like a pushy sales tactic. There's absolutely no scientific evidence presented here. The advice given is nothing more than basic common sense. We're encouraged to do things like counting to 10 when we're angry, thinking before speaking, and trying to see things from other people's perspectives. It's nothing groundbreaking, to say the least.
  • I've come across this book countless times in different bookstores, but it never caught my attention. However, one day I was compelled to buy it and I'm glad I did. The information provided proved to be extremely valuable for me during this specific period in my life (2014). I'm currently in a phase of self-reflection, examining my actions and the direction my life has taken. The techniques and insights found in this book, as well as on the accompanying website, were instrumental in my personal growth. I discovered effective ways to avoid unnecessary conflicts and effectively resolve issues with others. What impresses me most is how this book condenses the wisdom of many other books I've read into one convenient resource. I have both a physical and digital copy, and I even share it with others as a recommended read. If you're looking to improve your relationship skills or make positive changes, I highly recommend giving it a try.
  • The narrator's voice is absolutely terrible when attempting to depict other characters in the book, particularly women. His voice is downright cringeworthy. I couldn't even bring myself to complete the audio book.
  • I think this book and assessment are total nonsense. As a professional counselor, I believe that this perspective on personal reflection and emotional intelligence is what contributes to the high level of disengagement we see in the workplace. If you are a serious leader, I strongly advise against purchasing this book as it will only lead you in the opposite direction of effective leadership.
  • This book is awesome. It's straightforward, clear and you can effortlessly impart the skills from this book to someone else. However, if you opt for the hardcopy (which usually costs just a slightly higher amount), you can obtain a code for a complimentary assessment to determine your current standing. Keep in mind that the code is only available once and the service won't provide it separately. That's why I wouldn't suggest spending your money on the audiobook unless you already possess the hard copy.
