I've been a huge fan of this entire series, but let me tell you, this book is hands down my favorite. Maggie's use of language is so damn poetic, it's like music to my ears. The action, plot, and characters are all expertly woven together to give us a conclusion that is just so satisfying. And the best part? There's a little crack left in the door for potential future extensions of the story. It's like the door isn't completely closed, just kind of hanging loose. So for all you series fans and Stiefvater enthusiasts out there, trust me, you won't be let down by this one!
The Raven King is a book that manages to both surprise and not surprise at the same time. There are certain moments that you can see coming from a mile away, but when they actually happen, they catch you off guard. This book manages to evoke both joy and sorrow in equal measure. When I say I love this series, it's not the same kind of love I have for things like chocolate, thunderstorms, or traveling. It's a love that feels like revisiting your favorite dream, one that you wish you could stay in for hours. The Raven Cycle is truly unique, and I doubt I'll ever come across anything like it again. It's simply wonderful.
I personally believe that Will Patton was born to narrate these books. At first, I thought it was an odd choice since he's an adult man, but his accent and the emotion he puts into it really elevate the experience of listening to these books.
