  • I absolutely loved this book! It had so many emotional moments that made me gasp in disbelief. The storyline was engaging, although it did have some slower parts. The main focus of the story is on a high school junior who goes through the usual ups and downs of teenage life, but there are also some shocking secrets that will leave you feeling heartbroken. Just a warning, the first book ends on a major cliffhanger that will make you desperate for the next one. The narrator did an amazing job with a lovely voice that perfectly captured the essence of the story. Overall, it was a fantastic experience!
  • Reason to Breathe is definitely heart breaking. I felt so bad for what the heroine is forced to live with, but I also wanted to strangle her at times. I think I have a hard time with a heroine at her age that should be old enough to know that there is help out there. She has good support in her best friend, and then later with her boyfriend—and they basically beg her to let them help her. I just found some of her decisions very difficult to accept—especially at the end. I liked the characters. I like the story. I do not like the ending. At all. Also, I am getting a little intolerant of trilogies lately, so I might be a little biased right now. I just feel sometimes these stories could be told in one book. I am hesitant about whether I want to read three books in this series just to finish and wish they hadn’t dragged it out so long. I’d say I was ready to give this book 5 star until the end. I will continue to book 2 because of the cliffhanger ending. I want to see where the story goes. However, if it starts to drag out and the story doesn’t progress I doubt I’ll finish. Anyone considering reading Reason to Breathe: Don’t even start reading this book unless you have the next ready. It is a huge cliff hanger ending.
