  • I just finished reading the second installment of the Septimus Heap series, titled "Flyte," and I must say it was a great read. The audio version was well narrated, making the whole experience enjoyable. I am definitely hooked and excited to dive into the third book in the series!
  • The second book in the Septimus Heap series, "Flyte," is absolutely fantastic when listened to after the first book. However, we have some reservations about the narrator's performance. He tends to use a sing-song voice for many of the characters, which unfortunately detracts from the portrayal and makes them appear rather dull-witted. Especially when a character is expressing frustration or complaint, the sing-song voice comes across as unpleasant and doesn't align well with the story or the current situation. As a result, we can't say we're fans of this particular narrator.
  • I came across this series when 'Flyte: Septimus Heap, Book Two' had just been released. I devoured it in a single night, pulling an all-nighter just to finish it. I managed to keep up with the subsequent books until 'Darke,' but I decided to start over from the beginning and make my way through the entire series.
  • If you're into tales filled with magic and magnificent creatures, then the Septimus Heap series is definitely up your alley. I've actually started from the beginning for the second time, and let me tell you, if you're considering giving it a go, just take the plunge! I promise you won't be disappointed!
  • I absolutely loved this story, and the narration was top-notch. It managed to be both soothing and thrilling at the same time. What I really liked about this book is that it didn't include the musical interludes like the first one did. I am so eager to dive into the next installment, whether by reading or listening to it!
  • This second installment of the Septimus Heap series takes us deeper into the magical world we've come to love, introducing us to familiar characters who expand the scope of the adventure. The story feels satisfyingly complete, seamlessly fitting into the larger series.
  • I was pretty disappointed when I found out that the narrator had changed. I wasn't really feeling this new guy, but I stuck with it because I'm absolutely hooked on the story. Surprisingly, by the time I reached the halfway point, I couldn't even remember the original narrator. The story is just as amazing as the first book. Although the new narrator is different, he's still doing a great job.
  • I'm just wondering, how did Simon manage to obtain the bones? Marcia predicted that they would turn to slush and she used a cleaning spell on the remains. So, how did Simon manage to get the bones from someone who was basically reduced to a skeleton? I mean, everything was thoroughly cleaned up, so it's really perplexing how Simon was able to acquire the bones. Plus, how did they grow a tough exoskeleton? It's just not adding up in my mind.
  • I was really into the narrator in the first book. But when it comes to "Flyte: Septimus Heap, Book Two," I can't even make it past the initial chapters. I simply don't vibe with his voice or the way he portrays the characters. It's insane how much it impacted my overall enjoyment. If Gerard Doyle continues as the narrator for the rest of the series, count me out.
