  • I bought this audiobook because a colleague of mine read it and recommended it to everyone in our department. Unfortunately, I don't have the time to read, so I opted for the audiobook version. To my dismay, it turned out to be quite disappointing. The narrator, who is also the book's author, lacks the ability to captivate the listener. It felt like listening to someone who was intentionally trying to bore me to sleep. To make matters worse, I later discovered that there was no available code to access the MBA inventory. This was the main reason I bought the audiobook, as I wanted to compare my results with my co-workers. Needless to say, I was very let down by this.
  • I'm really frustrated and disappointed with this audiobook, 'The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace: Empowering Organizations by Encouraging People'. We bought several copies for our team, but it's missing the necessary code to take the MBA Inventory. This is a crucial part of the book and it's a huge letdown that the audiobook doesn't include it. Gary Chapman and Paul White, you really dropped the ball on this one.
  • There are definitely some positive aspects to "The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace: Empowering Organizations by Encouraging People." One of the standout features is the sales success that comes with their inventory product. However, one area where the book falls short is the lack of sufficient examples for each language.
  • The book guides you on how to identify the specific language of appreciation spoken by the people in your workplace. It also presents practical examples of workplace challenges. Furthermore, it offers valuable and simple tasks that can be easily implemented to foster a more positive and nurturing connection with your colleagues.
  • I absolutely adored this incredibly logical and unbiased summary of how to bring about positive transformation in any work setting (seriously, ANY work setting!). I purchased a physical copy so I can easily mark the key takeaways that apply to my own workplace and will definitely be sharing it with others. The entire book is packed with valuable insights and meticulously pinpoints numerous challenges. I highly recommend it!
  • The book "The 5 Languages of Appreciation in the Workplace: Empowering Organizations by Encouraging People" presents certain statistics, such as 45 to 55%, and then attempts to explain the significance of the higher percentage. Additionally, there are quotes in the book that seem to contradict themselves, giving the impression that the editing may have been lacking.
  • This book offers fantastic advice that I find myself applying on a daily basis. However, I must say that it is quite slow-paced and took some effort to finish. Nevertheless, the content is truly valuable, particularly for fostering team unity, and it has also become relevant to my personal life. Overall, I have no regrets about investing my time in listening to this book.
  • I believe that implementing the concept of appreciating others in the workplace and personal relationships is crucial. However, I wish the book provided more specific guidance on how to handle different scenarios or offered some practical steps, phrases, or thoughts to initiate the implementation of these concepts. In the final chapter, the author mentioned sending bi-weekly prompts to a team that resulted in positive outcomes, but unfortunately, the book did not include any of these prompts as a starting point. While there were some scattered pieces of advice throughout the book, they were few and far between amidst the statistics and general discussions.
