    This book took a while to get into the actual story, with the first 25 chapters dedicated to developing a rather unexciting romance. The second half of the book portrays the main characters as slow and dense, while the villain is depicted as cunning and ahead of the game. I accidentally purchased the Booktrack Edition, which features a music backtrack, and it turned out to be quite distracting, especially since I have hearing difficulties, as it often interfered with hearing the dialogue. Personally, I wouldn't recommend this version as I didn't find it added anything to the book. I tried to exchange it, but despite the service claiming to exchange any book, they wouldn't exchange this one because I had purchased it as part of a 2-for-1 deal. All I wanted was to swap it for the same book without the soundtrack, but no luck. On a positive note, the narrator did a fantastic job. Her distinct character voices made it easy to follow the story, and during intense moments, she seamlessly transitioned from one character to another, which was impressive.

    I've lost count of how many times I've gone through this book, but this was my first time experiencing it through audio. Isabel Keating's narration, combined with the calming music in just the right spots, brought a fresh perspective to the story. Every aspect of this tale captivates me. The characters are exceptionally well-crafted, and the plot unfolds at a satisfying tempo. It gradually transforms into an intense, edge-of-your-seat thriller that keeps you flipping pages.

    I can't get enough of this book! Nicholas Sparks truly captures every emotion in this story, with various unexpected turns and a jaw-dropping conclusion that will leave you hooked until the very end. Isabel Keating's narration in this audiobook is top-notch and perfectly complemented by the captivating background music. Trust me, you won't be disappointed investing your time in The Guardian.
