I had a difficult time keeping up with the storyline in 'The Warlord Wants Forever: Immortals After Dark, Book 1'. The narration didn't really resonate with me, and I found it to be quite challenging to keep track of all the different characters.

Usually, I'm a big fan of Kresley Cole's books, but this one required a lot of effort to get through. The abundance of cliches made me roll my eyes far too often. There's nothing more off-putting than the tired trope of characters failing to communicate and misunderstanding each other until the very last moment, only to realize it's too late. It's a theme that's been overused to the point where I can't tolerate it anymore. I understand that misunderstandings happen frequently in real life, making it difficult for authors to resist including them, but personally, I've grown tired of this particular trope. Nonetheless, I still adore this author and her work, and I'm willing to give the next book in the series a shot. Hopefully, it will be an improvement over this one.
