  • Cat and Bones have really got the hang of working together and trusting each other. The growth of their partnership just makes them even more lovable and one of the best couples in this genre. In 'This Side of the Grave: Night Huntress, Book 5', Jeaniene Frost ties up several storylines, such as what's happening with Don and how Cat will survive her eerie enemy. This installment also introduces some new and hilariously messed up storylines. All I can say is, Cat's mom is absolutely ridiculous, and the Night Huntress World would be so much less exciting without her! Tavia Gilbert does an awesome job with all the different accents. I'm a huge fan of these books and I'm eagerly awaiting the next one.
  • I absolutely loved 'This Side of the Grave: Night Huntress, Book 5', which is the fifth installment in the series. Tavia Gilbert's narration is top-notch and really adds to the overall experience. I must admit, each book in the series just keeps getting better and better. It's impressive how some authors have a knack for crafting a compelling story, and Jeniene Frost is definitely one of them.
  • I absolutely adored this fifth installment in the Night Huntress series! Tavia Gilbert's narration was incredible, she really nailed it. I must say, each book just keeps getting more and more captivating. There are certain authors who truly excel at crafting an engaging narrative, and Jeniene Frost is definitely one of them.
  • Book five of the Night Huntress series keeps the winning streak going strong. It seamlessly picks up where book four left off, so it's highly recommended to read the preceding installment to fully grasp the story. In this thrilling chapter, we are immersed in a high-stakes conflict between vampires and ghouls, which unravels with even more unexpected twists and turns than its predecessor. Alongside the main characters, we are treated to the presence of a diverse array of supporting characters, as well as some delightful surprises that I won't spoil for you. Tavia Gilbert's narration is commendable, bringing the story to life. If you're a fan of the series, book five is definitely worth a listen, as it will undoubtedly leave you satisfied.
  • This book will leave you eagerly anticipating the next installment! It easily takes the spot as my favorite book in the series. While all the books are filled with humor and emotion, this one had me bursting into laughter on multiple occasions and also had me shedding tears like a baby. I've developed a strong attachment to these characters after following them throughout the series. Just a heads up: this book should be read after the second book in the Night Huntress World series, as it will make more sense after reading the two Night Huntress World books. If you're looking for the reading order of the Night Huntress series, including the Night Huntress World spin-off novels, it goes like this: start with "Halfway to the Grave," followed by "One Foot in the Grave," "At Grave's End," "Destined for an Early Grave," "First Drop of Crimson," "Eternal Kiss of Darkness," and finally "This Side of the Grave."
  • I wasn't really feeling this one as much as the others in the series. I mean, I kept asking myself, "What's the point of this story?" It just didn't quite mesh with the rest of the books. It felt like the author was trying to come up with a solid storyline to keep the series going, but it fell a bit short. That being said, Tavia Gilbert's narration was top-notch and added to my enjoyment of the audiobook. She's really talented!
  • This series consistently delivers and I'm thrilled to know that more books are on the way. This time around, the antagonist and storyline are more complex and take unexpected twists and turns. It was a real pleasure revisiting all the familiar characters from the previous book and seeing how they each have their own unique paths. After reading through the entire series, they almost feel like old pals. While it may confuse newcomers, I doubt anyone would start with this book. If you happen to be one, I suggest going back to the first book and reading them in chronological order. Additionally, I highly recommend diving into the related Night Huntress World books that were published prior to this one. Overall, it was a fantastic read and I'm eagerly looking forward to more!
  • This is my third time listening to an audio book set in this world, and I have to say, I was a bit irritated with how the narrator dramatized certain events, especially the fight and sex scenes. She seemed to get too excited and her voice became too high-pitched and squeaky, which made these scenes sound unnatural. However, during the rest of the narration, the performance was fine and the characters were read with distinct voices. There was a family aspect to the story that I believe was meant to bring us closer to Cat, but personally, I didn't care for it. When I read vampire romance novels, I'm not looking for touchy-feely family reunion type stuff, I'm in it for the action-packed moments (and I can tolerate some explicit content if necessary). In this book, there wasn't a lot of explicit content, just one scene that was a bit too long, while the rest were brief and not overly detailed. There were a few genuinely funny scenes and lines that I enjoyed, and Vlad was a fun character, but overall, I feel like this is the second weakest book out of the seven set in this world (book three of the series was just ridiculous).
  • I'm absolutely hooked on the Cat and Bones series! These books are fantastic, and the narrator's enthusiasm shines through in her incredible performance. I highly recommend starting with the first four Night Huntress books, followed by the two Night Huntress World books (which are equally amazing), and finally diving into this one, as it refers to events from both Night Huntress World books. Trust me, you're in for a treat!
  • This Side of the Grave: Night Huntress, Book 5 is yet another remarkable addition to the incredible love story of Cat and Bones. I highly recommend it to those who appreciate a powerful female protagonist, clever humor, a touch of romance, all set in a paranormal world. With its tantalizing love scenes, Jeaniene Frost truly nails the perfect balance.
