It's awesome that they made the choice to let him do the narrating. It really gives the stories that extra punch of believability. I was totally hooked on this book. It's captivating, with some valuable insights on life and achieving success. I can't recommend it enough. Definitely one of my top picks.
I've always believed that there are two types of people: those who read about life and those who actually live it. But now, I have to add a third category: those who not only live it, but also write about it and build an extraordinary career out of it. This book is absolutely fantastic - I'm totally hooked!
I really dig it when the author takes on the role of the narrator, it adds a lot of power to the audiobook. The story itself is captivating and flows smoothly, although it doesn't leave you completely floored like some autobiographies tend to do.
I found it intriguing to learn about some individuals who were considered infamous, whom Weintraub knew personally, and to discover the journey of his own life. However, there were moments where it felt excessively self-centered.
I'm writing this review halfway through the audio book because it's just that good. Before picking up this book, I had no idea who Jerry Weintraub was, but I do have a small understanding of Hollywood. The stories shared by Weintraub in this book are incredibly funny. Not only that, but there are also valuable life lessons to be found here. It's been a while since I've come across an audiobook that's as enjoyable as this one, maybe not since "Open".
