Summary

In the twentieth century, women's sexuality was seen as "Men's Sexuality Lite" basically the same, but not quite as good. From genital response to sexual desire to orgasm, we just couldn't understand that complicated, inconsistent, crazy-making ladybusiness.

  • I gotta say, this audiobook is a game-changer. It delves into some mind-blowing scientific discoveries that will totally revolutionize your sex life. I can't recommend it enough. Seriously, just yes.
  • This book might be beneficial for young people or individuals with limited knowledge about sex and life in general. However, it didn't provide any new information for me personally. I was quite angry when the book discussed the concept of "50 Shades of Grey" and made the claim that women actually desire to be spanked, despite saying otherwise. This struck me as a form of gaslighting and was demeaning to women. Fortunately, the book acknowledges the importance of emotional intimacy in improving sex within a committed, long-term relationship, as explained by Dr. John Gottman, whom I happen to know personally. On the other hand, it also mentions Esther Perel's perspective that emotional distance can increase desire for one's partner. However, if you have an avoidant attachment style or struggle with intimacy issues, I recommend reading Dr. Doug Weiss instead. Lastly, the narration style was quite irritating. It felt like listening to a cheerleader telling a story about three little pigs, which may be fine for a 20-minute tale, but becomes grating over the span of a 9-hour audiobook. Overall, I found this book to be a waste of my time and money.
  • While one could make the case that this book primarily caters to women, it also serves as a valuable educational resource for men who genuinely care about their partners and are willing to set aside their egos in order to enhance their relationship. Moreover, it proves to be an even more beneficial learning tool for men who consistently find themselves in relationships where the sexual experiences shift from extraordinary to lackluster. Here's a hint: chances are, you're not contributing positively to the situation!
