  • If you're looking to dive into the world of value investing but aren't sure where to start, "Invested: How Warren Buffett and Charlie Munger Taught Me to Master My Mind, My Emotions, and My Money (with a Little Help From My Dad)" is the ideal read for you. This book is highly recommended for the younger generation who aspires to attain financial independence down the line.
  • The PDF mentioned in the review is not easily accessible on the website and it seems like the author is mainly interested in selling additional materials and trainings rather than providing the PDF that the user is looking for.
  • The pacing of the audiobook is a bit sluggish, and I have doubts about the author's actual delivery. I did a quick search on Phil's fund and discovered that it has a meager 32 customers, and his personal net worth is around $6 million. Considering our current age, I don't think it's particularly valuable.
  • I highly recommend reading or listening to this book! It has the potential to have a profound impact on your life. I am currently overcome with emotions and shedding tears, as I have come to the realization of how straightforward it is to attain genuine freedom.
  • Even though there are helpful nuggets of fundamental knowledge, the title is somewhat deceptive because the book doesn't mention the author meeting Warren Buffett or Charlie Munger. The personal narrative was dull and unnecessary for delivering the key ideas. The narration by the author, Danielle Town, was tedious, making it challenging to engage with the audiobook for an extended duration. A more skilled narrator or even her father, Phil Town, would have enhanced the listening experience.
  • Before dismissing the efficient market hypothesis with personal stories based on emotions, it would be wise for the author to first pronounce Professor Fama's name correctly. Value investors who truly understand the market appreciate the significance of market prices and conduct thorough research before making any judgments. It is my genuine wish that readers and listeners who find inspiration in the author's message also adopt this approach.
  • Danielle neglected to mention another avenue she had for early retirement... receiving an inheritance. Additionally, I hope she acquired the knowledge to charge her father 4% of his net worth whenever he sought legal advice. The audiobook would have been far more pleasurable if Phil himself narrated his own words, rather than Danielle consistently mentioning "my dad said..."
  • The narrator of this audiobook has a voice that reminds me of a high school girl. It's honestly so terrible that I can't even tolerate listening to the advice given, and I can't even remove it from my library!
  • I've been tuning in to the Invested Podcast ever since it kicked off. This book covers all the topics they chat about on the podcast. Danielle presents it in such an engaging manner. It's an absolutely fantastic read.
  • I’ll be honest in that I haven’t listened to this whole book yet, however by following Daniel and Phil’s podcast I’m extremely excited to keep listening to it today. I too went from having many misconceptions about investing all together to now loving it with a passion. I’ve read Phil’s first book and by listening to their podcast, I’ve learned how to find a place for me to ethically invest in an industry I demised for much of my life. They advocate that the goal is to find companies you love which represent your personal belief structure, and then advocating for them through investing. I see Gondi’s famous quote fitting quite well with this strategy, “Be the change you wish to see in this world.” Really great stuff! These folks are fun, and oh yeah this work helps you prepare your financial future rather than living paycheck to paycheck. Again, good stuff. I’ve been a big fan of their work and am very excited to finish this book. The message has meaning and I hope to pass copies of it on to my siblings at some point so they can take advantage of “time” while it’s still on their side. Thanks Daniele and Phil, you both rock!!!
