  • After reading some less than stellar reviews that criticized this book for being a shallow diary, I felt compelled to share my thoughts. Frankly, it's not advertised as anything else! Instead of judging it based on my own expectations (hello, Real Housewives gossip), I found it to be truly enjoyable. I found it fascinating to get a glimpse into Andy's daily life and how he makes decisions. While the book may not delve into essays about his role in gay culture or the challenges of having an imperfect dog, these topics do come up naturally and Andy shares his genuine thoughts. In real life, we don't typically spend hours pondering these issues - they come up, we reflect, make a decision, and move on. And that's exactly what Andy does here. Listening to this audiobook feels like embarking on a road trip with Andy, engaging in conversations about both significant and mundane matters. Bravo, Andy!
  • I kinda had an idea of who Andy Cohen was since I live in New York, but reading this dreary account of the people he knows and the places he frequents just left me feeling down. After the first hour, it became clear that the main focus of this book was Andy Cohen's attempt to make his seemingly lonely life less miserable. He constantly mentions his famous friends and fabulous destinations, but at the end of the day, all he talks about is his loneliness. I have to admit, I had no clue who 'The Housewives of...' were, which put me at a disadvantage, but being a gay man in New York did provide some context for recognizing many of the Bold Face Names, It Places, and Amazing Events he mentions. Still, I was surprised at how purposeless his diary seemed. Even stories about attending the Met Gala, one of the most glamorous events of the year, felt as mundane as a trip to the hair salon. Regardless of his accomplishments in life, Andy Cohen comes across as someone desperate to impress others with the fame of his acquaintances. He's essentially saying, "Look, I know famous people, so I must be talented like them." Sorry, Andy, but that's just not the case.
  • Listening to the daily escapades of Andy Cohen in 'Superficial: More Adventures from the Andy Cohen Diaries' has left me feeling slightly inadequate in comparison to his energetic and eventful lifestyle. He effortlessly juggles numerous activities and appears to relish every moment of it. This account has truly inspired me to make the most of my own days. I thoroughly appreciated the opportunity to get to know Andy on a deeper level, recognizing that when he finally rests at night, he, like the rest of us, reflects upon the highs and lows of his day. Overall, this audiobook was a delightful experience. I sincerely hope Andy will release another installment, especially now that he has become a father. It would be intriguing to hear his perspective on parenthood.
  • I love experiencing Andy's perspective on the world. It's a blast to listen to the juicy details of what goes on behind the scenes and to have a VIP pass to all things pop culture. His candidness is like a breath of fresh air, and I really appreciate it.
  • I legit couldn't stop laughing while reading this book, and trust me, I've read a ton of books in my 65 years on this planet! Andy Cohen is the real deal - no BS, he's open and honest, and he knows how to find the funny in this chaotic world we live in!
  • I really connected with the raw and authentic writing style of this book. It truly captured the author's genuine emotions and experiences. I'm eagerly anticipating his future literary endeavors.
  • I'm glad that you embrace your superficial side, just like the title suggests. And I must say, I absolutely adore it! This book is a delightful and entertaining read that I thoroughly enjoyed. I can't wait for the release of "The Daddy Diaries"!
